Established in 1918 we are now based at our modern workshop at Layerthorpe, York.
Since its formation in 1918 by Alfred Hare, the company is still owned and run by the same family having been passed down to the Jacksons and Robsons.
Currently all but one member of our team has been apprentice trained with us since leaving school.
First point of contact in the office are Directors, Steve Jackson and Andy Robson, who would happily survey your project and tender a quote.

Hare & Ransome are members of the Historic Houses Association and York Consortium for Conservation & Craftsmanship. All our operatives hold CSCS cards with the new Heritage Skills accreditations, a requirement by English Heritage for working on Listed Properties.
